About four years ago I was just starting my freshman year of high school. It was a scary experience, not knowing how the upper classmen would like me - let alone the students in my own grade. I thought I'd just try to be friends with everyone, which clearly I shouldn't have. Halfway through freshman year I kept getting weird looks in the hall way and had  no idea why. Obviously, I felt uncomfortable about it. Although I felt uncomfortable about the weird looks, I just ignored it and tried not to let it bother me. "How far along are you," was a question I received during lunch my freshman year. My immediate response was to be shocked. I had no idea why someone would ask me that. Apparently they thought I was pregnant, because a huge rumor went around the school saying I was. Instantly, I cried. Why would people say that about me? Was I fat? Did I do something wrong? I guess having a lot of guy friends was frowned upon, and people thought it was okay to make up rumors. People came up with this rumor because my guy best friend and I always posted pictures on Facebook together saying we love each other. Of course, we meant it in a friendly way, but other people thought we were something more. I learned to clarify my postings on Facebook and other social network sites to never have rumors spread about me again.
